Douglas J Noble is a music journalist, guitar instructor and musician based in Edinburgh, Scotland. He regularly contributes interviews, transcriptions and technical analysis to `The Guitar Magazine' (UK) and he is the Music Director of `UniVibes' (Eire), the international Jimi Hendrix magazine.

He has a degree in Psychology from Edinburgh University and two diplomas in Classical Guitar from the London College of Music. He has written three books to date, `Instant Hendrix' (IMP, 1988, out of print), `Instant Peter Green' (IMP, 1990) and `Jimi Hendrix - The Man, The Music, The Memorabilia', co-written with Caesar Glebbeek (Dragon's World, 1996). He has also contributed to several other books including `The Electric Guitar' (Virgin, 1993), `The Official Guitar Styles Of Mark Knopfler' Volumes I and II (Wise Publications, 1993), `Best Of UniVibes' (UniVibes, 1994), `The Story Of The Fender Stratocaster' (Carlton/IMP, 1995) and `The Jimi Hendrix Companion' (Schirmer Press, 1996).

He has contributed to several other magazines including `Guitar Player' (US), `Bass Player' (US), `Guitarist' (France), `Making Music' (UK), Frank Zappa fanzine `T'Mershi Duween' and Neil Young fanzine `Broken Arrow'. He is also an examiner for Rock School/Trinity College of Music.
